The 4Ward team consists of individuals who have all served in operational and managerial roles critical to the primary solutions they provide to our customers. Each of them are highly recommended and sought after by companies, but choose to serve by sharing the knowledge they have learned over time.
There are twelve additional members of the 4Ward team who live throughout the United States and Canada. All of them have extensive backgrounds in Management, Finance, Operations, Labor Management, Production, Human Resources, Software Development, Recruitment, Design and Lean Management/Manufacturing. Two members of the team are Lean Black Belt certified and four are Lean Green Belt Certified.

Ben Hershey is a dynamic executive leader with more than 30 years of experience in structural wood/metal manufacturing, green products and automotive aftermarket distribution. His experience has been in both public and private companies with both regional and national presence.
Ben has proven lean manufacturing, analytical, operational and communication skills which have been instrumental to successfully turn around and grow the market share of challenged operations. His overall leadership of companies includes Operations Management, Turnaround Management, Strategic Planning, Continuous Improvement, Business Startups, P&L and Vendor Management, Product Development, Sales Management, Personnel Development, Equipment Selection and Purchasing, Distribution and Sustainability Practices.
Prior to starting 4Ward Consulting Group, Ben had the opportunity to start two companies and two new divisions for other companies. He has had roles including President of a large national multi-location company, National Sales Manager, General Manager, and Divisional Manger of a large regional company. He has spent the majority of his career in the structural wood component industry working in companies ranging from supply to manufacturing/distribution. He has worked with numerous groups of investors from inside and outside the building industry to start new companies or to introduce new building products to the market. Ben’s leadership has included ownership in several different companies including companies he has started.
Ben has been very involved in various associations including leadership roles. He has served as President of the Structural Building Components Association (WTCA) and as founding President of the Arizona Industries of the Future. Ben served SBCA during a challenging downturn in the housing market and guided the association through member service reductions while at the same time working to increase the role of the SBC Research Institute. His other leadership roles have included committee chairmanships in both associations and the Arizona Governors Forest Health Committee. He currently serves on several Board of Directors and Boards of Trustees.
Personal: Ben and his wife, Dianne live in Stanwood, WA and are active in their local community. Ben is on the Board of Trustees for Warm Beach Community Center and Healthcare and serves as the Treasurer. He plays the piano locally and in the music ministry at the church they attend. Ben attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL and is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
